Job Summary

Acewood is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team full-time. This role is suited for someone who can read plans, work independently, solve problems in the field, and produce clean, high-quality work with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has strong residential construction experience, takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates clearly, and can contribute to a professional, organized job site. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants steady work, clear expectations, and room to grow within a structured company.

Compensation

$32?$40/hr depending on experience, demonstrated competency, tools, vehicle arrangement, and final compensation package.

Acewood is open to discussing the best fit based on the candidate?s experience, tools, vehicle situation, and overall compensation package. Candidates with their own truck and tools may qualify for a higher hourly range with mileage reimbursement. A company vehicle arrangement may be available for the right candidate as part of the final compensation package.

Duties

• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Perform framing, finishing, exterior work, renovations, and general carpentry tasks
• Execute assigned work accurately, safely, and efficiently
• Solve basic field problems and communicate issues before they become delays
• Coordinate with site leads, other carpenters, labourers, and subcontractors
• Help train or guide junior team members when appropriate
• Maintain high standards for workmanship and reduce callbacks/rework
• Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Represent Acewood professionally on client sites

Requirements

• Proven carpentry experience in residential construction or renovation
• Ability to read and work from plans with limited supervision
• Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, layout, framing, and finishing methods
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and clean job sites
• Ability to lift materials and perform physically demanding work
• Valid driver?s licence preferred
• Own tools and/or truck considered an asset, but final vehicle/tool arrangement is negotiable
