As a member of our Operations Team, you will foster a well-organized product quality control process and cooler management.

Weekend and holiday availability is required to meet operational needs, as Fresh Direct Produce operates 24/7.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALITY CONTROL

• Assist QC leader with daily quality control and inspection for all incoming, in-house, and outgoing products
• Identify quality issues in a timely fashion and then determine courses of action
• Conduct daily cooler walks and product quality checks
• Monitor the consignment inventory
• Assist with product grading and monitor all product disposal
• Assist QC leader with all CFIA requests and inspections

OPERATIONS

• Work with the Grading Team Leader to set benchmarks for grading efficiency
• Ensure proper cooler organization
• Product rotation via FIFO method (First in/First out)
• Assist with inventory count

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-3 years of experience in Food Safety or Quality Control inspection in Food Production or Manufacturing
• Extensive produce knowledge – local & imported products; retail produce experience is a definite asset
• Experience in repacking processes
• Use of electric pallet jacks and/or forklifts is an asset
• Detail-oriented and methodical in documentation and processes
• Strong organizational skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on individual with a strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English (spoken & written)

Physical Capability:

• Requires frequent walking and standing for extended periods of time
• Working inside and outside coolers
• Lifting and carrying of up to 40lbs
• Operating a ride-on power jack
