Job Opportunity:

Smurfit Westrock is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Flexographic Operator to join our production team in Mississauga. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, dependable, mechanically inclined, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing environment.

Candidates must be flexible and available to work day, afternoons or night shift based on a 35 hour work week. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

What you will be doing:

• Operate and maintain flexographic printing presses and related equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform machine setup, job changeovers, and production preparation according to schedules and specifications
• Monitor print quality, registration, and color consistency to ensure customer standards are met
• Troubleshoot press and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
• Follow all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), work instructions, and quality standards
• Complete production documentation accurately, including downtime, waste, and maintenance records
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the production area
• Work collaboratively with team members, Dept Leads, and other departments
• Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives
• Follow all plant health and safety rules, policies, and PPE requirements
• Report equipment concerns, hazards, and safety issues promptly

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum 2–3 years of flexographic printing experience preferred
• Experience with Martin Automatic equipment preferred
• Experience with AVT equipment preferred
• Die cutting experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Professional attitude with strong attendance and punctuality
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality
• Forklift experience or certification considered an asset
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive bending, lifting, and reaching
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, inks, and solvents
