Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and Repair: Efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks and diesel-powered vehicles
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure safety, reliability, and peak vehicle performance
- Electrical and Mechanical Repairs: Repair and maintain diesel engines, brake systems, suspension, steering, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Inspections: Complete thorough inspections to identify mechanical, safety, and maintenance concerns
- Quality Workmanship: Ensure all repairs are completed to manufacturer and dealership standards
- Customer Service: Provide clear explanations of repairs and maintenance to service advisors and customers when needed
- Maintain Work Area: Keep your workspace organized and tools properly maintained
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all dealership and industry safety guidelines
Requirements:
- Licensing: Valid NS Driver’s License and a current clean Driver’s Abstract
- Designation: Motor Vehicle Inspection License + Red Seal Certification and/or Truck & Transport Certification required
- Experience: Previous experience as a Heavy Duty Truck Technician or Diesel Technician required, Dealership experience considered an asset
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, heavy-duty truck systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures
- Attention to Detail: High standard for accuracy, efficiency, and quality workmanship
- Team Player: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
