We are hiring multiple Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our Drills & Shovels Integrated Mining Team. In this role you will be performing new-builds, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing a variety of Caterpillar general line, power systems and mining equipment throughout BC and the Yukon. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with IMT, you’ll support the Drills & Shovels program, as well as troubleshoot and perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Mining Equipment. Your work will include: Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment Repair, replace components Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication Support on site electrical & hydraulic system diagnosis, failure analysis, system assessment and adjustment Qualifications: Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification Red Seal Off Road certificate required Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract 3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the field, mining operations is an asset Strong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems Experience with Cable Shovels and Drills would be beneficial Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset Important Details: This position is based on a 14 x 14 continuous shift rotation Live anywhere!
