Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Machinist manufactures various parts for Janox, a leader in the fluid power industry specializing in design, manufacturing, and installation of large hydraulic systems, large hydraulic cylinders, and the repair and testing of a wide variety of hydraulic components.
Key Responsibilities
Manual machining (lathe, mill, radial arm drill) with DRO. Repair and re-machining of hydraulic components. Assembly of hydraulic cylinders and power units. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers and calipers). Measure and layout workpieces. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Qualifications
Journeyperson Machinist trade certification and red seal certification is considered an asset. Outstanding apprentice candidates may be considered. Experience with large manual lathes, vertical milling machines, radial arm drills, and a variety of other hand and power tools. Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset. Candidates with mechanical hobbies or work experience will be given preference. Experience with measuring tools such as gauges, micrometers, and verniers.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Resourceful and able to work with limited supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment. Dependable and consistent in attendance, quality, and productivity.
Working Conditions
General manufacturing shop specializing in hydraulic units. Out-of-town travel, field work, and/or overtime as required. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Fast-paced environment requiring high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines. Standing for extended periods of time.
