CNC Machine Operator

Position Summary:

The CNC Production Technician is responsible for monitoring and improving machine processes, tooling set-ups and hands on fixture installation, so that the quality of the parts being produced are of the highest quality in a cost-effective manner.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advise on the design of fixtures, cutting tools and gauge design at the project concept stage. Perform the initial tooling set up and part programming.

  • Perform capability studies after the initial project set-up to prove out machining process, tooling, and fixture methods. Provide technical support to the CNC production departments.

  • Assist with operator training.

  • Assist production departments in achieving their daily targets.

  • Set up tool life management.

  • Study existing processes and recommend possible modifications.

  • Identify and implement more effective and efficient means by which to improve CNC machine processes, tooling, or fixtures, thereby encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and environmental awareness.

  • Communicate and work effectively with team members and other members of the company.

  • Understand and comply with Orlick’s policies, procedures and standards of conduct as outlined in the Orlick Employee Handbook.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 2 years CNC machining experience.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills

  • Strong machining skills

  • Detail Oriented

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to read, interpret and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings.

  • Proven time management and organizational skills

  • Solid Interpersonal skills

  • Team player able to work well with others.
