London Agricultural Commodities is seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to join our operations team at our grain elevator and marine terminal facility in Port Colborne, Ontario.

This is not a typical maintenance electrician role.

We are actively modernizing and automating a large-scale industrial grain handling facility that operates by truck, rail, and vessel on the Welland Canal. The successful candidate will play a direct role in electrical upgrades, automation projects, troubleshooting complex systems, and improving the reliability and performance of critical infrastructure.

Our facility combines legacy industrial equipment with modern automation systems, creating an environment where practical troubleshooting skills and forward-thinking problem solving are highly valued.

What You?ll Work On

• Industrial automation and modernization projects
• VFD installations and commissioning
• Motor control upgrades
• MCC upgrades and electrical infrastructure improvements
• PLC troubleshooting and system integration
• Conveyor and grain handling control systems
• Sensor and instrumentation systems
• Preventative maintenance and reliability improvements
• Electrical support for vessel loading, truck loading, rail operations, and grain processing equipment

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real industrial problems and wants involvement beyond routine maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical equipment and automation systems
• Assist with the design, installation, and startup of electrical and automation upgrades
• Diagnose issues involving:
• Motors
• VFDs
• PLC systems
• MCCs
• Sensors and instrumentation
• Conveyors and material handling equipment
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Support operational uptime during harvest and vessel loading operations
• Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance personnel
• Maintain safe work practices and compliance with applicable electrical codes and regulations
• Participate in after-hours and emergency support as required

Qualifications

• Licensed Electrician:
• 442A Industrial Electrician, or
• 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician
• Strong industrial troubleshooting experience
• Experience with:
• VFDs
• PLCs
• Motor controls
• Industrial automation systems
• MCCs and power distribution
• Ability to work independently and manage projects
• Comfortable working in heavy industrial environments, including heights and outdoor conditions
• Strong mechanical aptitude considered an asset
• Experience in grain handling, manufacturing, mining, aggregates, ports, or bulk material handling industries is considered an asset
