Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a highly organized, technically skilled, and service-oriented professional to join our Central Services team as our Fleet Operations Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of our Central Services team, coordinating the division's fleet operations, transportation compliance, fleet technology, and regional logistics that support safe and efficient transportation services across Buffalo Trail Public Schools.

About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the Fleet Operations Coordinator provides division-wide coordination of fleet operations, transportation compliance, fleet technology, and regional logistics in support of Buffalo Trail Public Schools.

This role combines operational coordination, technical expertise, and customer service to help ensure the division's fleet remains safe, compliant, and responsive to the needs of schools and Central Office operations. Working collaboratively with transportation contractors, school administrators, and Central Office departments, the successful candidate will support effective fleet systems, regulatory compliance, and operational services across the division.

What You'll Do

Coordinate the division's fleet management program, including vehicle maintenance records, inspections, preventative maintenance scheduling, and fleet documentation. Coordinate and support National Safety Code (NSC) compliance by maintaining required regulatory records and documentation. Coordinate fleet technology, including two-way radio, GPS, and digital video surveillance systems on contracted school buses. Coordinate regional logistics supporting schools and Central Office operations. Build collaborative relationships with contract bus operators, schools, vendors, and division departments. Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance fleet operations, safety, efficiency, and customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma required. Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Experience coordinating fleet operations, transportation compliance, technical systems, or related operational services would be considered an asset. Experience maintaining electronic databases or fleet management software. Knowledge of National Safety Code requirements would be considered an asset. Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract. Other qualifications the Division may find appropriate and acceptable.
