The Field Specialist (Nights) will be responsible for monitoring Contractor’s performance, verifying installed quantities and producing detailed shift reports for works performed at night within the Metrolinx Rail Corridor. Reporting to a Lead Field Specialist, you will issue contemporaneous shift reports at the conclusion of each shift. The worksites are at Don Yard (470 Lake Shore Blvd) and within the Kingston Subdivision from Eastern Avenue to Gerrard Street. Bantrel Infrastructure, is a key sub-vendor to Bechtel, have been appointed the Delivery Partner within an integrated team with the customer, Metrolinx, for the Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project and will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by two key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors and two large Progressive Design Build Contracts. The scope includes both managing the Works associated with the program and with the individual construction projects. Night shift working hours are typically from 8pm until 4am, Monday to Friday. Responsibilities: Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project technical requirements and approved construction methodologies, including track installation and relocations Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring safety is the primary focus in all site activities Support day-to-day field coordination and delivery in line with client expectations and project requirements Review contractor documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and inspection and test plans (ITPs) Attend inspections and oversee construction works within rail corridor environments Issue and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) as required Interpret engineering drawings and verify installation quantities and progress Review field changes, extra work orders, and contractor schedules Support project controls, reporting, and verification of contractor payment applications Prepare and maintain daily field and progress reports Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent field experience. Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or transit construction. Experience in construction supervision or field engineering roles on large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality standards. Strong focus on safety. Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings. Effective communication and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam; experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks is preferred. Awareness of environmental compliance and industry quality standards. Knowledge of construction means and methods, contracts administration, and project controls on major infrastructure projects Experience in rail or transit environments, including track-related work, is an asset Proficient with standard office software and project systems Additional Information Why Join Bantrel?
