About the role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Tasks: Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions. Harvest seedlings. Tie and secure plants. Weeding. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 16-20 people. Type of crops: Blueberries. Equipment and machinery experience: Harvesters. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Gloves. Personal suitability: Team player. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Employment terms options: To be determined. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth.
