The Position
Reporting to a Mine Technical Services Supervisor, the Mine Tech is accountable for providing technical support in a surface and underground environment to ensure safe and cost-effective production. The successful candidate will be a technology orientated individual that may work in the areas of survey, ventilation and mine systems, mine design, mine planning, and ground control, along with a team of technicians, technologists, engineers and production personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out measurements, calculations, designs, and inspections underground with an emphasis on in-field troubleshooting, problem solving, and incorporating technology into their daily tasks; Prepare safe and accurate mine designs, various mining prints, and mine plans and schedules. Actively participate in weekly and monthly safety meetings, as well as all safety programs and initiatives
Skills And Qualifications
A Technician or Technologist diploma in mining, civil, instrumentation or related trade Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Excel, CAD, and databasing Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Experience with 3D modeling, and mine scheduling software packages will be considered an asset. Must be comfortable around cutting-edge modern mining technology and instrumentation (automated equipment, mobile devices, UAVs etc.)
Compensation And Benefits
Competitive total compensation package including:
Health, Dental, Life, AD&D, Disability, Healthcare and Wellness Spending Accounts, Virtual Care and Employee and Family Assistance Program; Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and Annual compensation of CAD$70,000 to CAD$87,000
