Join Our Team as an AWS Cloud RDS / Oracle Database Specialist

Are you a seasoned Database Administrator with a passion for cloud technology and a keen eye for performance? We’re seeking a dynamic AWS Cloud RDS/Oracle DB expert to elevate our data infrastructure. In this critical role, you'll ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of mission-critical databases while leveraging cutting-edge AWS services. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver seamless, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, OEM. Proven mastery in performance tuning, including SQL & instance tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, and wait events. Deep knowledge of provisioning and managing RDS instances/clusters with features like Multi-AZ, storage auto-scaling, parameter/subnet groups. Strong background in backup/restore processes, encryption (KMS), patching, and version upgrades. Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Enhanced Monitoring. Expertise in cost management strategies, including right-sizing, reserved instances, and savings plans. Experience designing and operating Redshift clusters with WLM, concurrency scaling, and workload management. Ability to optimize database schema, perform VACUUM/ANALYZE, and execute query tuning for workload isolation. Skilled in building CI/CD pipelines with AWS CDK (TypeScript/Python), managing environments across development, QA, UAT, and production. Knowledge of implementing high availability solutions and cross-region snapshot management.

Required Skills

6+ years as an Oracle DBA, with at least 3 years specializing in AWS data services. Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and Amazon Redshift. Expertise in database performance tuning, monitoring, and cost optimization. Certifications in Oracle (OCP) and AWS are highly preferred. Proficiency with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and CI/CD tools like CodePipeline and GitHub Actions. Familiarity with OEM, ASM, and related Oracle tools.

Nice To Have Skills

Additional cloud certifications or hands-on experience with other AWS services. Knowledge of scripting for automation, such as Python or TypeScript. Experience with cross-region replication and disaster recovery strategies. Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.

Preferred Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 6 to 8 years of database administration experience, with 3 or more focused on AWS data services.

Other Requirements

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively. Flexibility to support on-call responsibilities as needed. Prior experience in implementing infrastructure as code and automation practices.
