Air Separation Plant Operator (Full Time)

The Plant Operator will operate the Air Separation Plant as per designated work processes, utilizing air separation / cryogenic process knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner. You will be able to work in a novel team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision.

What you will enjoy doing*

  • Operate the Air Separation Plant in a safe and efficient manner by following established work processes and applying your air separation / cryogenic process knowledge
  • You will work 12-hour rotating shifts in a team environment where you often set priorities and complete work with minimal supervision
  • Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and reliable plant operations
  • In addition, you will operate and field-check process equipment, monitoring process conditions, equipment performance, and control systems
  • Utilize multiple, complex plant computer control systems to oversee and adjust operations
  • You shall apply troubleshooting skills to resolve process-related deviations and problems as they arise
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance on process equipment to help maintain equipment reliability
  • Also, you will use your process knowledge to identify and implement plant performance improvements and coach/train others on plant operations

What makes you great*

  • You have a Class 4 Certificate in Stationary Engine Mechanics, Class 4 Certificate of Fixed Machine Mechanics, Class B MMF Certificate Refrigeration Equipment and knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Further, you have strong computer and technical skills with the ability to learn and operate both manual and highly automated process equipment
  • You have the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required
  • Strong ability to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; current and valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the role: lift up to 60 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work in tight / confined spaces, and wear all required personal protective equipment
  • DEP or CEC in chemical process techniques, DEC or CEC in instrumentation and control, DEP in industrial mechanics, DEP in electromechanics, or any relevant experience related to these fields of expertise is an asset
  • Having previous experience in a 24/7/365 industrial environment is also considered an asset
