What You’ll Do:
VidCruiter is recruiting for a Director of Software Engineering to lead cross-functional software delivery initiatives while managing high-performing engineering teams. This role is responsible for team leadership, project execution, release management, feature planning, and operational excellence to ensure successful product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management (60%)
- Uses AI to accelerate engineering output while fostering ambitious goals, strong ownership, and high-performing development teams.
- Monitors and drives staff productivity through data-informed initiatives, effective tooling, and clear targets and objectives.
- Conduct regular team 1:1 meetings to support productivity, quality, and performance goals.
- Lead performance management activities, including feedback, coaching, and development planning.
- Partner with recruiters to support hiring efforts, candidate evaluations, and onboarding activities.
Technical Program Management (20%)
- Maintain visibility into the status of all feature deliverables and ensure projects are delivered on schedule
- Oversee production deployments and software release activities to ensure smooth and reliable delivery.
- Coordinate closely with QA and Engineering teams and act as the primary point of contact for issue resolution and communication
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers, and drive timely resolutions.
- Ensure effective execution of sprint commitments and release timelines.
Process Improvement, Reporting & Operational Oversight (20%)
- Track and report key performance and operational metrics to the CEO and CTO.
- Promote engineering best practices, process improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives
- Provide regular project and delivery updates to management and stakeholders.
- Help establish scalable processes that improve predictability, quality, and team performance.
- Review, understand, and execute on the feature roadmap in collaboration with relevant technical leads and the executive team.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing software engineering or technical delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle practices.
- Ability to travel to Moncton, NB, two times per year.
- Experience managing software releases, deployments, and cross-functional coordination.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Skills

Experience working with QA, DevOps, and Product Management teams.

Familiarity with release management and project tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Experience driving process improvement initiatives and operational reporting.

Technical background in software development or engineering management preferred.
