We are an ever growing and ever-changing company currently seeking a highly motivated Production Planner/ Scheduler to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Planner/ Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating production, inventory, and material needs for the Rod-Coater and Slitter operations. This role supports operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and on-time order fulfillment while promoting a best-practices approach that supports overall business performance and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and positive department environment.
- Monitor ICI Quotes (incoming orders) and ICI Scheduling (in-house orders) mailboxes.
- Create and manage daily production schedules for the Slitter and Rod-Coater departments.
- Screen, validate, and release orders according to production capacity and customer requirements.
- Issue accurate work orders and estimate material/labour needs for scheduled jobs.
- Schedule and replenish sheet stock, roll stock, and ink to prevent production disruptions.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to ensure efficient material flow.
- Track inventory usage and place timely reorders to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Monitor order status and proactively communicate delays or concerns to stakeholders.
- Optimize labor and machine utilization in partnership with department supervisors.
- Analyze forecasts and incoming demand to anticipate capacity or material constraints.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) activities.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts for slit goods and ink; support accurate inventory reporting.
- Generate and maintain accurate scheduling documentation, production, and waste reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards on the shop floor.
- Provide support to Sales and Customer Service teams regarding scheduling updates.
- Assist in resolving team-related concerns and provide vacation/absence coverage when needed.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process, efficiency, and quality improvements.
ACADEMIC AND EXPERINCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and/or 1–2 years of related experience
- Experience scheduling in a corrugated field preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to read and interpret safety, production, and procedural documentation.
- Understanding of production equipment capabilities and scheduling principles.
- Knowledge of cost drivers and efficiency factors in manufacturing operations.
- Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven.
- Proactive team player with a positive attitude.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily office-based with routine floor and warehouse presence required for order and inventory verification.
- Exposure to a moderate-to-loud production environment; adherence to all safety protocols is essential.
- Must be available to support production across all shifts as needed.

Salary: $53,000- $70,000
