Ashcroft Terminal and the PSA Group are seeking a Construction Equipment Operator to join our growing team!

As the only private logistics terminal in Canada with CPKC & CN mainlines onsite, ATL is strategically located to help shippers, manufacturers, and producers prepare their commodities for export or import. As a member of PSA International, Ashcroft Terminal is part of a global network of supply chain professionals!

In the position of Construction Equipment Operator, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects, operating heavy machinery and equipment with precision and safety.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform excavation, grading, trenching, loading, and material-moving tasks.
  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions or damage to the Lead Hand.
  • Follow site plans, project specifications, and supervisor instructions.
  • Adhere to workplace safety regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with construction crews to complete projects on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and daily activity reports.
  • Assist with site cleanup and other construction-related duties as needed.
  • Assist in other construction-related tasks as required, including construction labour, as needed. 

For success in this role, you must have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction environments (grader, excavator, loader) is preferred.
  • Must have a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • A valid First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of construction operations, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • The ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
