About the role
TEAM Industrial Services is seeking an experienced IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Safety Lead to support rope access operations and industrial projects in Sarnia, Ontario. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing safe execution of rope access activities, supporting field crews, and ensuring compliance with IRATA/TEAM’s rope access standards, client requirements, and company HSE policies.
The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with proven industrial rope access experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to coordinate multi-discipline work scopes in refinery, petrochemical, and heavy industrial environments. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence while supporting TEAM’s commitment to safety, quality, and client service.

Schedule: Dayshift. 4-10’s Monday to Friday.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise rope access crews in accordance with IRATA guidelines and company safety procedures
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all field operations and job sites
- Conduct pre-job hazard assessments, toolbox talks, rescue planning, and daily safety briefings
- Ensure all rope access activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with client and regulatory requirements
- Monitor work execution and provide technical guidance and mentorship to rope access technicians
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, inspectors, and client representatives to support successful project delivery
- Verify equipment inspections, documentation, and rope access systems are maintained to TEAM’s standards
- Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives when required
- Support shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance, and ongoing industrial operations throughout the region
- Maintain accurate reporting, safety documentation, and field communication throughout project execution
Qualifications Required
- Current IRATA Level 3 Certification required
- Previous experience leading rope access crews in industrial environments
- Strong understanding of IRATA procedures, rescue techniques, and industrial safety standards
- Experience working in refineries, petrochemical facilities, power generation, or heavy industrial environments preferred
- Additional NDT, mechanical, inspection, or trade certifications considered an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and incident prevention
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding industrial environments
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to client sites as required
- Ability to support shutdown schedules, overtime, and project-based work when needed
