Job Description

The primary focus of the Quality & Metallurgy Director is to meet the quality customer satisfaction, (i.e.) and product quality and quality system requirement. One of the main objectives is the improvement of the product quality by reducing the quality losses and improving product capabilities. They support market growth and process capability to support commercial objectives through the process and quality teams in the plant.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

10+ years of experience with metals manufacturing

10+ years of experience managing a union workforce

Experience with automotive and aerospace quality requirements including AITF16949, NADCAP and AS9100

Experience overseeing product trials and new product development opportunities

Experience having engineering managers across multiple departments as direct reports, (think 10 managers as direct reports)

Strong leadership and conflict resolutions skills

BS in Metallurgy or materials science

Desired Experience And Skills

Experience with aluminum metals manufacturing

Experience managing Plate and Coil quality products improvement

Experience developing quality culture

Experience having up to 75 direct reports

PMP or Six Sigma certifications

MS or MBA in anything
