Education: College/CEGEP. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Urban area. Tasks: Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order. Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations and contours. Determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment. Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Survey Technologist Trade Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Computerized land information system. Geographic Information System (GIS). Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. AutoCAD. MS Excel. Survey specialization: Land survey. Engineering. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
