Position Title: Field Surveyor

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Job Type: Contract

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Field Surveyor’s primary responsibilities are:

  • Perform over-the-line depth of cover, close interval cathodic protection surveys, and voltage gradient/coating surveys on pipeline infrastructure.

  • Field-level execution of assigned projects to ensure minimal project delays or downtime.

  • Under the supervision of a crew lead, collect, interpret, and understand key data as it relates to pipeline depths, cathodic protection, DC interference, and voltage gradients, such as analyzing waveform oscilloscope measurements, measuring soil resistivities, gathering pipe-to-soil potential and rectifier data, and conducting continuity testing.

  • Follow safety, survey, and data collection procedures for the scope of work.

  • Responsible for the maintenance and operational function of assigned vehicle, tools and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be physically fit, willing to routinely work outdoors, and able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.

  • Should have solid hands-on technical capabilities, valid driver’s license, be willing to travel, and work overtime.

  • Good initiative, adaptable, flexible, and team player.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or Technologist program (asset).
