Division: Global News - National Morning News (TMS) Work Status: Full-Time Location: Toronto, ON - Corus Quay (On-site) About the Role: The Morning Show is currently looking for a full-time Entertainment Reporter/Producer (Digital Broadcast Journalist) to join their team, based out of Toronto (Corus Quay). The position includes various morning and dayside shifts for TMS. Reporting to the Executive Producer, the successful candidate will be responsible for editing, writing, shooting and producing segment and video content. This role reaffirms our commitment to a multi-platform, digital-first approach, to build the future of news, which generates news content 24/7. This is a Group 4 position under the current collective agreement. You will contribute by: The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions but does not outline all the duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to this position. Initiating and developing story and feature ideas through contact development, research, and interviews. Writing, shooting, and editing stories across multiple platforms including for broadcast and globalnews.ca and other platforms while meeting multiple daily deadlines. Posting updates online as a story is being developed. Gathering and producing original content of local and /or national interest. Creatively using production graphics, music, and other visual elements to enhance storytelling. Proven storyteller with the ability to craft compelling, visually engaging pieces from interviews, while strategically tailoring stories for broadcast, web and social platforms. Being a strong advocate, model and mentor for digital journalism and a digital-first workflow. Performing other duties as required. Skills and experience you will bring: Post-secondary education in journalism, broadcasting, or a related field. Minimum two years of producing experience is required. Knowledge of editing programs, including Premiere Pro and CapCut. Exceptional social media fluency. Must be proficient in creating, curating and developing content for platform specific storytelling including Instagram and YouTube. Exceptional writing and storytelling skills. Strong story judgment and editorial skills with a proven ability to vet scripts. Proven experience in diverse and inclusive storytelling. Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows as well as show a willingness to learn new online skills in a multi-faceted digital news operation. Ability to work well independently as well as effectively collaborate in a team setting. Work well under pressure while meeting strict deadlines, possessing a desire to be the best, and having a positive can-do attitude.
