Role Overview The Senior Risk Engineer – Property is a core member of the risk engineering capability, supporting Commercial Property and Construction underwriting. This role delivers technical risk insight, loss analysis, and client-facing engineering expertise that directly informs underwriting decisions and enables profitable growth. As part of a developing function, the role will also contribute to building modern, scalable risk engineering practices aligned to Everest’s underwriting philosophies. Key Responsibilities Partner with underwriters to evaluate risk quality and support disciplined risk selection Perform risk assessments, hazard analysis, and develop EML/MFL scenarios Produce high-quality risk engineering reports with clear, actionable recommendations Conduct site visits and provide technical opinions on complex risks Review third-party engineering reports and translate findings into underwriting insights Contribute to development of risk assessment frameworks, tools, and loss estimation methodologies Identify emerging risks and portfolio trends, informing underwriting strategy Support broker and client engagement, positioning Everest as a proactive risk partner Deliver internal training and insights to enhance underwriting capability Qualifications & Experience 5–10 years of experience in property and construction risk engineering or consulting Strong exposure to large, complex commercial or industrial risks Degree in Engineering Experience with loss estimation and risk improvement practices Strong communication and influencing skills Ability to translate technical insights into commercial underwriting value The base salary range for this position is CAD 130,000 - CAD 170,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
