Job purpose
Comec is looking to add Journey Certified Crane operators to our growing team. The Operators would as part of the maintenance team, working opposite shifts, on a 7 on/7 off rotation. Full time permanent shift. 12-hour days, 80 hours RT 4 hours OT per shift. Camp work or daily bussing available for local workers.
The Crane operators would be the primary crane operator on site for all cranes and lifts. The cranes would range from small spider cranes, carry desks, RT cranes up to 80 ton, over head cranes and occasionally on smaller truck mounted knuckle pickers. As part of the scope there the operator would be needed to run the on-site zoom boom/telehandler, and other mobile equipment as needed. Working with the Maintenance teams and on-site OCT team. The Job is primarily a crane operating position, but when the schedule for the operator is slow, then his time will be filled running equipment and assisting the onsite maintenance crews.
Duties and responsibilities

Primary operator for the cranes on site. between the maintenance group. Operation construction group.

Telehandler/zoom boom operator.

Assist with work order planning on lifts.

Daily/Pre-use inspections and reporting of issues on the lifting equipment.

Minor onsite maintenance. Greasing as needed. Fluid top ups etc.

Fill out and maintain pre lift plans, critical lift plans. Rigging inspections.

Work with onsite Maintenance team with lifting/operating competencies for smaller lifting equipment. E.g. knuckle pickers, overhead cranes.

Working with the onsite maintenance team when schedule has open time.

Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- Journeyman Crane operator
- Class 5 minimum driver’s license
- Industry safety tickets.
- Experience operating numerous different sizes of cranes and lifting equipment.
- Zoom Boom ticket an asset.
