Why BCAA? Feel proud of what you do and help shape the future of BC at a BC Top Employer. We’re driven by purpose – delivering peace of mind to one in three BC households with insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share. With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward. We are currently hiring a Salesforce Developer to join our Salesforce Platform team based in our Head Office in Burnaby. As a Salesforce Developer at BCAA, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of our Salesforce platform to support business needs and strategic goals. Your role will involve gathering and analyzing requirements, implementing solutions, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvements that positively impact operational efficiency. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across various teams to ensure that the Salesforce platform aligns with BCAA’s objectives, providing technical expertise and insights that help drive our initiatives forward. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong technical background in Salesforce administration and development who is passionate about using technology to deliver impactful solutions. Who you are: You are passionate about building scalable, secure solutions and continuously improving your technical expertise within the Salesforce ecosystem. You are a proactive problem-solver who works comfortably both independently and collaboratively, engaging effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. You are an effective communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information and foster alignment across teams. You are highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs. You are detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to address system requirements and operational challenges. What you’ll do: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, triggers, asynchronous processing, Lightning Web Components (LWC), integrations, Flows, and platform configuration capabilities in alignment with business requirements, architectural standards, and development best practices. Independently manage and deliver enhancements, defect resolutions, and maintenance activities, exercising sound judgment to identify dependencies, assess impacts, mitigate risks, and drive work to completion. Participate in solution design discussions, contributing technical expertise and recommendations to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable implementations. Perform code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, code quality, testing practices, and overall platform health. Develop and execute comprehensive testing activities, including Apex unit tests, integration testing, and release validation to ensure solution quality, reliability, and compliance with established standards. Utilize source control, CI/CD, and DevOps processes to support the efficient, secure, and reliable delivery of Salesforce solutions across environments. Collaborate with Salesforce Developers, Administrators, Architects, and other IS team members to coordinate releases, resolve technical challenges, and ensure consistent platform functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions that improve platform stability, performance, and operational efficiency. Stay current with Salesforce platform releases, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to improve BCAA's Salesforce ecosystem and development practices. What you bring: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and supporting Salesforce solutions, including hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Salesforce platform configuration. Experience developing and troubleshooting integrations using Salesforce APIs and related integration technologies. Understanding of Salesforce security concepts including profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and role hierarchy. Experience working within Agile delivery teams and participating in software development lifecycle activities. Proven ability in business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling, and methodology development. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills, with keen attention to detail and efficiency. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Knowledge of software testing methodologies and quality assurance practices, including test planning, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and release validation. Bonus Skills: Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, Platform Developer II, Platform App Builder, or Salesforce Administrator. Experience with Salesforce Field Service, Salesforce Service Cloud, Agentforce, Financial Services Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, or Marketing Cloud Engagement.
