Since 2012, we have delivered hundreds of behind-the-meter energy projects across solar and building energy efficiency for commercial and industrial clients. As our business continues to scale, we are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer (P.Eng) to act as Engineer of Record, technical authority, and quality leader across commercial and industrial solar projects, with exposure to emerging energy storage applications.
The Role
The Lead Electrical Engineer (P.Eng) will own the engineering, stamping, and technical quality of commercial and industrial solar projects, while playing a key role in technology selection and technical standards development.
This role does not require hands-on system installation, but does require strong field awareness, site involvement, and accountability for compliant, buildable, and high-performance systems.
You will work closely with the sales team to support client decisions, as well as with project managers, auditors, construction teams, utilities, and leadership to shape how Green Integrations designs, evaluates, and delivers integrated energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Authority & Project Engineering Act as Engineer of Record for Ontario solar projects Prepare, review, and stamp SLDs, IFC drawing packages, and as-built documentation Lead electrical design for net-metered and load-displacement projects Ensure compliance with OESC, ESA requirements, applicable utility standards, and CSA Support commissioning, utility witness testing, and final utility authorization to operate Provide technical leadership to project managers and site teams
Utility, ESA & COVER Lead or support CIA submissions, ESA plan review, and COVER testing Coordinate with Ontario utilities (Hydro One, Alectra, NT Power, Toronto Hydro, etc.) Support post-energization troubleshooting and performance verification
Quality Control & Site Oversight Lead quality control during construction and commissioning Visit project sites as required to resolve technical or constructability issues Manage RFIs, field changes, and engineering revisions Ensure installations align with stamped design intent
Technology Sourcing & Engineering Standards Support technology sourcing, vetting, and evaluation for solar, EV charging, and energy efficiency technologies Evaluate suppliers based on technical performance, compliance, reliability, and bankability Define and maintain internal technical guidelines, standards, and preferred equipment lists Support continuous improvement of project engineering practices Contribute to the growth and maturity of the engineering function
Qualifications Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario (mandatory) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 5+ years of relevant Ontario commercial & industrial experience Proven experience stamping IFC packages for solar projects in Ontario (mandatory) Strong understanding of Ontario utilities, ESA, and COVER processes In-depth knowledge of power systems and power distribution Demonstrated understanding of commercial and industrial building electrical systems Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills Proficiency with industry-standard engineering and design tools Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites across Ontario
Assets / Nice to Have • Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) designation • Experience with energy modeling tools • Experience with energy storage (BESS) or EV charging projects • Experience acting as Engineer of Record on projects >500 kW
