The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering geotechnical field inspection, materials testing, and data collection services on a variety of projects including transportation, land development, and residential, commercial, and industrial construction. This position is based out of Terrapex’s Toronto office and offers a salary range of $21.50 to $24.60, commensurate with experience.

Position Highlights: 1–3 years of relevant field experience in materials testing, geotechnical investigation support, or construction inspection (typical range) Ability to work independently in the field on routine projects while following established procedures and instructions Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data collection, and high‑quality field documentation Good working knowledge of field compaction testing, concrete sampling/testing, and basic QA/QC procedures Ability to recognize discrepancies or changing site conditions and communicate issues promptly to the Project Manager Familiarity with applicable industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements relevant to Ontario projects Valid driver’s licence with access to a reliable, insured vehicle Capable of performing field work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/kneeling for extended periods, and working outdoors in all weather conditions Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and a strong safety culture

What You’ll Do Conducting field testing such as compaction testing on earth fill, granular, and asphalt materials, plastic concrete sampling and testing, as part of QC or QA programs; Assisting in laboratory testing as needed, for soils and aggregates; Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs; Attending in technical training programs as required; Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with Terrapex staff as well as clients and subcontractors; Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

What We’re Looking For Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering &/or Civil Engineering Technology would be considered an asset. Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training. Previous experience in materials testing, geotechnical field work, or construction inspection is an asset Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to apply logical reasoning in the field Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to accurately enter data with a high degree of precision Familiarity with software such as MS Word, Excel, Geosystem, and AquiferTest is an asset Willingness to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends, extended hours, and out‑of‑town assignments within Ontario CCIL laboratory accreditation is an asset
