Lead Assembly Technician
About the role
We are seeking a Lead Assembly Technician to support the hands-on assembly and testing of custom tooling and machinery while providing daily leadership to the assembly team near Burlington, ON.
Pay - $80- $95K
Shift - Days
Responsibilities
Perform hands-on mechanical assembly of custom tooling and machinery using technical drawings, specifications, and procedures. Lead and support Assembly Technicians by assigning daily tasks, setting priorities, and providing technical guidance. Review drawing packages before builds, identify potential issues, and ensure materials, parts, and tools are available prior to assembly. Conduct pre-job meetings and coordinate daily activities to support project schedules and customer requirements. Assist with functional testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), troubleshooting assembly-related issues as needed. Ensure compliance with quality standards, inspection requirements, and documentation throughout the assembly and testing process. Coordinate consumable and tooling requirements with the Supervisor and escalate material shortages when necessary. Follow all health and safety policies, WHMIS regulations, and safe work practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while promoting a strong safety culture. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Diploma, certificate, trade qualification, or equivalent experience in a related mechanical, industrial, or electro-mechanical field. 5+ years of assembly, manufacturing, or quality experience in a custom equipment environment. 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
