The Metallurgical Lab Technician will support the line by testing samples, preparing buttons, running spectrometer analysis, completing float analysis, and helping direct material based on the results.

Main Responsibilities Prepare samples buttons for spectrometer testing Run spectrometer testing and use the results to classify, label, and direct material Complete float analysis and daily waste testing, and provide daily waste report results Maintain testing records and report any quality concerns or unusual results Own the spectrometer, including routine maintenance, keeping it clean, scheduling service when needed, and making sure required consumables are available Keep the lab area clean, organized, and safe Follow all safety and testing procedures

Requirements Experience in a lab, quality control, metals, recycling, or manufacturing environment preferred Comfortable using lab and testing equipment Basic understanding of metals, material grading, or quality control preferred Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency Able to follow testing procedures exactly Comfortable maintaining equipment and managing required consumables Comfortable with Excel and basic reporting Able to identify abnormal results and escalate concerns Able to work independently and communicate results clearly
