About the role

Company Description Brukar Inc. is an Oakville-based supply chain partner specializing in precision metal components for North American OEM manufacturers. We source castings, forgings, machined parts, weldments, and assemblies through a network of manufacturing partners in India, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, managing the full supply chain so our customers can focus on building great products.

Our customers operate in demanding industries including food equipment, welding equipment, and submersible applications, where dimensional accuracy, material traceability, and on-time delivery are non-negotiable. We work closely with OEM engineering and procurement teams to take components from RFQ through to serial production, solving the technical and logistical challenges that global sourcing creates.

If you are an engineer who wants broad exposure across manufacturing processes, direct involvement with technically demanding customers, and a role where your judgment shapes real outcomes, Brukar is a different kind of engineering environment.

A Day in the Life No two days look the same in this role. You might start the morning on a call with a customer's engineering team in Texas, sitting in on a design ideation session for a new component, contributing manufacturing knowledge that shapes what gets built before a single drawing is finalized. By midday you are reviewing casting samples that arrived from a supplier in Taiwan, confirming the first article meets spec and moving the program one step closer to production. In the afternoon you are preparing a quote for a new RFQ, evaluating which of your supplier partners has the right process capability for the application and putting together a recommendation you can stand behind.

Once or twice a year you are on a plane to Asia, walking shop floors in India, China, or Vietnam, auditing process capability, meeting the people behind the parts, and building the kind of supplier relationships that give you real leverage when a program gets complicated. Periodically you are at a customer's facility somewhere in North America, early enough in a program to influence the design, not just execute against it.

You are the person customers call when they need an answer they can trust, and the person suppliers respect because you know what you are talking about.

Role Description The Sr. Engineer, Technical Accounts is a full-time, on-site role based in Oakville, ON, responsible for leading technical coordination between customers, Brukar's internal teams, and offshore manufacturing partners. This role oversees customer requirements, reviews engineering drawings and specifications, and translates them into clear, manufacturable instructions for suppliers.

The Sr. Engineer will manage project timelines, monitor production status, and proactively address quality, delivery, and cost issues to ensure reliable fulfillment. Day-to-day activities include supporting RFQ processes, evaluating technical feasibility, participating in supplier selection and development, and driving continuous improvement in product quality/design with customers.

The role also involves regular communication with customers and suppliers, preparing technical documentation and reports, and collaborating with sales, logistics, and quality teams to meet service and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities Technical Support, RFQ to Production Review RFQ packages for technical risk including materials, processes, tolerances, drawing completeness, and applicable standards. Collaborate with customers and suppliers on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to set every project up for success. Evaluate technical feasibility and recommend suppliers based on genuine process capability. Review supplier quotes for accuracy and alignment with customer requirements; prepare and submit customer-facing quotes. After PO issuance, coordinate first sample production with customers and suppliers, review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and physically inspect first samples. Resolve sample and production issues with urgency and clarity, keeping all parties aligned.

Customer and Supplier Relationships Serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of OEM accounts across North America. Participate in design reviews and design ideation sessions with customers, contributing manufacturing expertise early enough to influence outcomes. Conduct periodic site visits to customers across North America and supplier facilities in Asia (one to two times per year). Maintain strong relationships on both sides, balancing technical precision with practical, direct communication.

Quality and Continuous Improvement Diagnose and resolve production quality issues, coordinating between customers and suppliers to establish root cause and corrective action. Apply hands-on process knowledge to identify patterns and implement improvements that make delivery faster, more reliable, and more predictable. Maintain familiarity with quality systems, inspection methods, and ISO or similar standards.

Qualifications Required Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, licensed in Ontario. 10 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or product development environment, with meaningful exposure to castings, forgings, machined components, weldments, or assemblies. Hands-on process knowledge in metal component manufacturing: you know what good looks like on the shop floor and can identify when a supplier constraint is real versus convenient. Proficiency in SolidWorks or a comparable CAD platform; comfortable reading and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and complex manufacturing drawings. Experience managing customer or supplier relationships directly, not just supporting them internally. Proven ability to manage projects from RFQ through to delivery, including timelines, risk identification, and cross-functional communication. Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences: you can explain a manufacturing problem to a customer's engineering team and to a supplier's production floor in the same day. Ownership mindset: you follow through, notice the details others miss, and do not wait to be asked twice.

Assets Experience working with international or overseas manufacturing suppliers, particularly in Asia. Exposure to demanding application environments such as food equipment, welding equipment, or submersible systems. PMP or equivalent formal project management experience or certification. Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, or similar quality frameworks. Comfort using AI tools to improve productivity, whether for drafting technical documentation, analyzing supplier data, researching manufacturing processes, or streamlining communication.
