Guided by our core value of Safety Always, we partner with clients to build the infrastructure that powers the future.     Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreperson, will be responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field regarding all matters of construction electrical matters to ensure the team achieves their general and specific project requirements.      What You'll Do Here:

Responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required. Accurately record and communicate the hours worked and operational issues. Operate and promote safe working on site. Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements. Conduct and amend risk assessments and deliver toolbox talks/briefings. Ensure site personnel have job relevant training requirements which is entered on site personnel training register. Ensure workers complete all required documentation and track and document daily work productions. Responsible for equipment and materials management. Adhere to all company and client occupational health and safety guidelines and regulations. Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices. Complete maintenance & safety reports and ensure paperwork is completed timely and legibly. Scope and order material for projects and daily work requirements. Travel to remote locations and work at heights outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Work with heavy equipment and cranes. Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be, replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines. Lead by example to others on site. Be a positive team member through open communication and active participation in coordinating crew tasks Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

  What You Bring to the Team:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve high performance. Minimum 5 years of experience in utility and powerline construction. Proven ability to oversee large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders. Journeyman Electrician and industry related safety certification. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment. Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements Experience in electrical commercial construction and maintenance. Proficient Computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). A professional and respectful attitude with a strong customer service focus. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written. Ability to work independently and cohesively within groups. Capable of working at various heights with the ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time. Knowledge to interpret electrical code with a high level of mathematical aptitude. Willingness to travel and work in remote job locations. Mechanical strength and manual dexterity with the ability to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiring. The expected hourly wage for this position is $95 - 100/hr  per the current Collective Agreement. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.   Aecon fosters belonging within and across our organization.
