Help Shape Major Infrastructure Projects from the Ground Up
RAM Consulting is growing our Geotechnical team and is looking for a skilled Drafting Technician who enjoys turning complex engineering concepts into clear, accurate construction drawings. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced geotechnical engineers on a wide variety of infrastructure projects across Western Canada. From transportation and utilities to land development and major civil works, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality technical drawings that support projects from investigation through construction.

What You'll Be Doing As a Drafting Technician, you'll support the delivery of geotechnical and civil engineering projects by producing accurate technical drawings and collaborating closely with engineers throughout the design process.
Your responsibilities will include: Preparing construction drawings, plans, sections, elevations, details, and technical figures for reports and presentations. Developing drawings related to excavations, earthworks, retaining walls, foundations, stormwater management, sediment control, groundwater, shoring, and soil stratigraphy. Working closely with engineers and technical staff to develop practical design solutions. Managing drawing files and coordinating revisions and document control. Interpreting information from architectural, structural, civil, survey, utility, and GIS drawings. Participating in occasional field work, including site visits, reconnaissance, and field measurements. Maintaining a high level of drafting quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
What We're Looking For Approximately 4+ years of drafting experience within engineering or construction. Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Experience preparing detailed engineering and construction drawings. Excellent understanding of both metric and imperial engineering scales. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. The ability to visualize designs in three dimensions. Experience working with PDFs, spreadsheets, and standard office software. Familiarity with civil, geotechnical, or infrastructure projects. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. A collaborative mindset and desire to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
