The Role
As a senior member of the technical services team, reporting to the chief structural engineer, you will provide structural engineering expertise and leadership to support Cameco site operations, projects, and other business units. You will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions across the asset life cycle.
In this role, you will:

Be responsible for scope development, planning, and cost estimating to support business cases over the asset life cycle.

Work with structural and architectural designers for CAD work in support of development of 3D models and 2D drawings including all construction details.

Develop and revise technical specification, work on scope of supply, BOMs, MTOs, CWPs and construction work packages.

Develop technical memos and/or structural condition assessment reports as required.

Inspect completed structural projects for compliance with industry codes, specifications, and safety standards.

Prepare work schedules and allocate resources, as well as supervise junior engineers, technicians, and contractors.

Be responsible for ensuring that the design work is done in accordance with Cameco’s processes, procedures, standards, design criteria, and regulatory requirements.

Provide strong leadership and work with minimal direction within a multi-discipline team.
Required:
-
bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering;
-
seven to 12 years of relevant work experience;
-
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation;
-
eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) & Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO); and
-
intermittent travel to Cameco’s northern Saskatchewan and/or Ontario sites by aircraft.
Recommended:
-
previous experience in projects related to mining and milling;
-
knowledge of applicable codes (NBCC, NFCC), standards (CSA S16, CSA N393, CSA A23.3 and A23.4) and regulations (SK Mines Regulations);
-
knowledge and familiarity to run structural analysis using STAAD_PRO software as well as performing design calculations with MATHCAD software and/or excel sheets; and
-
knowledge of 3D viewer software such as Navisworks, Jetstream, Point Cloud.

Salary Range: $148,000 - $185,000
