What To Expect As a Utility Field Service Apprentice Electrician with the Tesla Energy Commercial Operations Team, you will have the opportunity to work under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Electrician on the maintenance energy storage facilities. Skills in all areas of electrical are not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety of electrical disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of electrical tasks from distribution/production power, lighting, and low voltage.

Working as a team with the Utility Team, the Apprentice Electrician assists with the operations and maintenance of power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment 480 VAC up to 1000VDC, Inverters, Batteries under the guidance of a Licensed Electrician.

What You'll Bring

Must be a Registered 309A construction and maintenance electrician apprentice with the Skill Trades Ontario (ONTARIO OPENINGS) or Industry Training Authority (VANCOUVER OPENINGS) Knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohms law. Must have 1-2 years of electrical experience including the installation of electrical equipment Use a variety of tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment Experience working with low voltage control circuits & AC power circuits. Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics Ability to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice with flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime along with overnight stay to support Tesla’s critical mission Must be able to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently Must have compliant government issued identification for domestic air travel and/or to access certain federal facilities.
