About the role
As a Junior Engineering Specialist, you will support the design, development, integration, and testing of the Canadian Coast Guard’s future fleet of six Program Icebreakers. This role will provide engineering support across all functional engineering disciplines. More specifically you will:
• Support the Engineering Department in producing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications. • Assist in the design, development, and testing of engineering solutions. • Support senior engineers in project execution and problem-solving. • Ensure compliance with the Corporate Management System (CMS), safety regulations, and best practices. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Naval Architecture). • 0–2 years’ experience in the marine engineering industry. • Familiarity with the rules and regulations of classification societies and flag states. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to complete multiple, complex, detail-oriented tasks and projects on time. • Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken). Fluency in English is required for this position, as you will interact with English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders or clients • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
