About the role
dcbel Inc. (www.dcbel.energy) designs and sells residential products to make clean, efficient, and sustainable energy accessible to all — because everyone in the world deserves energy without compromise. dcbel is at the leading edge of the residential energy revolution. Its products enable decentralized energy consumption and production through its vertically integrated suite of energy hardware and software products, and their supporting infrastructure.
Our flagship product, dcbel Ara, is a Home Energy Station that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and power their home, unlocking their EV’s battery for blackout protection, backup power (V2H) and grid services (V2G), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, stationary battery and the grid.
The opportunity Reporting to the Lead Electronics Engineer, your role will be to design, develop, and deliver high-reliability bed‑of‑nails test fixtures and ATE interfaces optimized for robust, repeatable PCBA production testing.
Main Responsibilities Design and develop bed‑of‑nails fixtures optimized for probe access, signal integrity, mechanical robustness, and manufacturability. Select, integrate, and implement ATE hardware (instrumentation, switching, power, loads) in alignment with defined system requirements and architecture. Ensure fixture reliability in production through proper probe selection, contact optimization, wear management, and maintenance strategies. Develop and maintain standardized fixture design templates, best practices, and guidelines to enable efficient replication and scalability across test lines. Collaborate with mechanical engineering to design fixture housings, alignment mechanisms, and actuation systems ensuring precision and repeatability. Define and execute fixture qualification, validation, and bring-up procedures to ensure readiness for production deployment. Troubleshoot and optimize fixture and interface performance, addressing contact issues, signal integrity problems, and test stability. Support manufacturing operations by resolving fixture-related issues, reducing downtime, and improving test yield and throughput. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to source probes, materials, and specialized components or custom fixture solutions. Document fixture designs, interface schematics, and maintenance procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
Key Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. 4+ years in test system architecture or automated test equipment (ATE) design. Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Experience with modular platform design for manufacturing test environments.
Bonus Skills Bilingual English and French written and spoken.
Profile Strong knowledge of in-circuit test (ICT), functional test, and boundary scan methodologies. Expertise in system-level design integrating hardware, software, and mechanical disciplines. Familiarity with safety and reliability standards. Proficient with requirements management tools. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent cross-functional communication. Strategic thinker with hands-on technical depth. Entrepreneurial mindset, result oriented and strong EQ. Autonomous, good teammate with strong problem-solving skills.
