About the role

Build Waterfront Projects. Work in Cottage Country. Create a Career You?re Proud Of.

Do you enjoy working outdoors, building with your hands, and spending your days around the water instead of stuck inside a warehouse or office?

At R&J Machine, we build custom waterfront systems that help families enjoy cottage life for generations ? docks, boathouses, marine railways, boardwalks, boat lifts, and shoreline projects across beautiful cottage country.

We?re looking for an Onsite Carpentry Assistant to join our growing crew.

This is more than just a job site position ? it?s an opportunity to build a long-term career in the marine construction industry while working in some of the most scenic waterfront locations in Ontario.

What You?ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with the construction and installation of docks, boathouses, boardwalks, and waterfront systems
  • Working alongside experienced builders and installers
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Loading materials and preparing job sites
  • Travelling to cottages, marinas, and waterfront properties
  • Learning specialized marine construction techniques
  • Helping create projects families will enjoy for years to come

No two days are the same. One day you could be building a boardwalk through the pines, the next installing a dock system on a beautiful lakefront property.

  • Work outdoors in cottage country
  • Spend your days around lakes, boats, and waterfront properties
  • Year-round employment
  • Learn valuable carpentry and marine construction skills

The Ideal Candidate

You?re someone who would rather be outside building something real than staring at a screen all day. You enjoy working with a crew, take pride in quality workmanship, and like the idea of building a career in a unique industry that keeps people connected to the water.

Ready to Join the Crew?

If you?re looking for a career that combines craftsmanship, teamwork, and life on the water, we?d love to hear from you.

Come build cottage country with us.
