About the role

We're looking for a hands-on Release Engineer with deep Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience to support an enterprise infrastructure modernization initiative focused on migrating environments from RHEL7 to RHEL9. The ideal candidate brings strong platform engineering depth and is comfortable coordinating with other teams to support GitHub migration efforts.

What You'll Do

Execute migration of applications and services from RHEL7 to RHEL9 Resolve binary compatibility and library dependency issues Build and compile open-source packages from source code Troubleshoot package and dependency-related issues Support GitHub migration efforts using Ansible, GitHub, or GitHub Actions, and coordinate with other teams to complete work on schedule Review vulnerability scan reports and remediate identified CVEs Ensure compliance with RHEL9 security standards and benchmarks Maintain secure software supply chain practices

What You Bring

5 to 7 years of overall experience in Linux or platform engineering environments 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in RHEL administration, engineering, and modernization including RHEL9 exposure Working experience or solid hands-on understanding of Ansible, GitHub, or GitHub Actions and CI/CD concepts Proven experience with vulnerability remediation and security hardening Strong hands-on engineering depth in platform engineering, containerization, and OS modernization Eligibility for a mandatory background check

Nice to have

Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or Rancher Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines and Groovy scripting Experience with Make, CMake, or GCC build systems Background supporting large-scale RHEL migration programs

Work setup

Hybrid in Calgary, AB 3 days onsite per week In-person interview at the client location is mandatory 6+ month contract English proficiency required
