JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is hiring a Civil Structural Designer to join a growing infrastructure team focused on bridge and structural design across municipal and provincial projects in Ontario. This is a full-time opportunity based in the GTA, supporting a highly active team with a strong backlog of work, particularly within transportation infrastructure. This role is ideal for a mid-level designer who is looking to continue building their career in a hands-on design capacity. The team is specifically seeking someone with a strong foundation in structural design related to bridges, culverts, and retaining structures, rather than building design. This individual will play a key role in supporting the technical aspects of project delivery, contributing directly to drawing production and design execution. This position is heavily design-focused and best suited for someone coming from a college engineering technician/technology background, rather than an EIT pursuing an engineering track. The team is looking for someone who is passionate about design work and interested in growing long-term within that discipline. Given the current workload, the ideal candidate will be able to step in with minimal ramp-up time and contribute immediately to ongoing projects. Experience working with municipalities and familiarity with MTO standards are key differentiators in this role.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

2–4 years of experience in a civil/structural design role, ideally within infrastructure projects Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field CET or C.Tech designation (or working toward it) Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D Experience supporting the design of bridges, culverts, and/or retaining structures Familiarity with Ontario design standards, including OPSS and OPSD Experience working on municipal or provincial infrastructure projects Ability to work independently and contribute with minimal training in a busy environment

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience working on MTO-related projects or familiarity with MTO standards and processes Exposure to Revit or additional design tools Prior experience working at consulting engineering firms such as GHD, WSP, CIMA+, or similar Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure project delivery workflows
