Tasks
Assist in design, development and testing Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems Supervise and inspect the installation and operation of electrical and electronic systems and equipment Interpret electrical code specifications Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records Work with minimal supervision Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices Replace or repair electrical components Maintain industrial instrumentation and related devices Install electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components Install and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
