Position Overview The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Coordinator supports operations across Whitecap Resources’ Eastern Saskatchewan assets by overseeing electrical, instrumentation, and maintenance coordination activities. This role is responsible for ensuring maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. The E&I Coordinator acts as a key liaison between operations, maintenance, engineering, automation, construction, and third-party contractors to support operational reliability, uptime, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Planning & Coordination Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities based on operational priorities. Plan, schedule, track, and follow up on maintenance work orders. Maintain PM schedules (calendar and counter-based) to meet operational and regulatory requirements. Review and approve maintenance work orders, ensuring proper execution, accuracy, documentation, and priority alignment. Provide quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on completed work orders, including redlines, RIKs, calibration records, and supporting Respond to day-to-day field issues and callouts to support operational reliability and uptime. Instrumentation, Electrical & Automation Support Coordinate and support instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities. Develop and maintain instrument indexes and blank calibration reports for maintenance work. Support gas measurement activities including meter calibrations, compliance requirements, and documentation. Support and collaborate with the Automation group during projects and upgrades. Provide support for field devices and systems as required. Manage and optimize solar-powered sites and related systems. Conduct power analysis and optimization activities, including power factor correction, horsepower optimization, and power surveys. Support commissioning and integration activities for new facilities, tie-ins, and site builds. Systems, Documentation & Compliance Maintain work orders, certifications, maintenance history, and compliance documentation within OPLII to support maintenance activities and regulatory requirements. Initiate and manage Management of Change (MOC) processes for maintenance and operational changes including drawing updates, redlines, vendor r Support engineering Shut Down Key reviews. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, environmental, and corporate standards. Coordinate and distribute quarterly blanket permits to contractors while ensuring proper completion, compliance, and filing. Contractor & Vendor Management Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors, including scheduling, scope definition, quality assurance, and safety compliance. Ensure contractor compliance through ComplyWorks and corporate safety standards. Approve and track invoices related to maintenance and contractor services. Procure replacement parts and manage inventory to maintain availability of critical spares. Develop, review, and manage quotes for maintenance and upgrade work. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting Liaise with operations to minimize downtime and identify opportunities for operational improvement. Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, construction, automation, and operations teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives. Participate in operations and maintenance meetings and provide updates on maintenance KPIs, project status, costs, and reliability metrics. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost control. Safety & Leadership Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through leadership, communication, and adherence to company standards. Participate in safety meetings, ERP exercises, incident investigations, and safety performance reviews. Review and report incidents, near misses, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Mentor maintenance personnel and contractors on best practices and safe work procedures. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 5 years of experience in oilfield maintenance coordination, instrumentation, electrical, automation, or related disciplines. Journeyperson certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related trade preferred. Experience with emissions compliance, calibration certificates, and measurement documentation. Strong understanding of oilfield equipment, maintenance standards, and regulatory compliance requirements. Experience coordinating multiple projects, contractors, and operational priorities simultaneously. High proficiency with OPLII and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative operations environment. Ability to provide after-hours and on-call support as required. Experience supporting automation systems and field communications. Familiarity with oil and gas construction, commissioning, and facility tie-ins.
