Applewood Port Hardy is looking for an Experienced Automotive Body Painter!

Job Duties:

• Remove exterior trims and hardware.
• Identify and evaluate all painting surfaces to determine the proper level of repair.
• Identify and apply corrosive-resistant primers and topcoats for fiberglass and plastic.
• Sand, spot fill, and condition areas of repair.
• Mask and tape for multi-tone work or to protect areas that do not require painting.
• Apply primers, acrylic enamel, polyurethane, base coat, clear coat, and other types of paint using spray painting guns.
• Mix paint to blend and match colours.
• Dry or bake newly painted areas.
• Apply decals, transfers, stencils, specialty refinishing, and detailing.
• Other duties as required.

Successful Candidates Possess:

• Red Seal Technician preferred but will take someone with 2-3 years of previous experience in automotive painting.
• The ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Education in automotive painting is an asset.
• You must have your own tools. ie: sanders, blocks, paint guns, clip removal tools, wrench and sockets and your own personal protective equipment etc.

Accommodations:

While accommodations are not included in the offer, there is a $1200 / per month self contained unit available to the successful applicant within walking distance of the shop.
