Compensation: $22.50-$27.50/hour plus 3% bonus capped at 150%
Job Summary
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing various tests on Payment and Government cards in accordance with ISO and/or Mastercard’s Card Quality Management standard.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform various tests on all cards and card components (Incoming inspection, Dual Interface Final, Special Test Request, Card Body Testing Final) by following the test procedures, and test instructions, including reference documents.
- Update test reports (MS Excel) and test logs and ensure that all documentation is correct and complete.
- Deliver notification of testing results via shared drives/test logs or e-mail.
- Use SAP to retrieve necessary information used for test documents, such as Order Quantities, Material description, Flex Bump Resistance requirements, Batch #’s, etc.
- Communicate (via email and verbally) any issues/problems from test results to the appropriate department Supervisor or Lead Hand.
- Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for product non-conformances or discrepancies on supplier records during inspection and testing.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Comply with G+D Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job-specific environmental, Health & Safety information and training and ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Additional testing/analysis as required (customer complaint investigations, product qualification testing).
- Perform calibration on test equipment as required and update all necessary calibration logs.
- Ensure the lab is kept clean and organized.
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements
Work Experience:
- Quality Management System Training would be an asset
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
Education:
- High School Diploma
Working Conditions
- Lab environment with significant plant exposure
- Lab coat and safety shoes are mandatory
- May be required to sit for long periods testing products
- Overtime work may be required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
