We are currently hiring a Journeyperson Welder in our Prince George shop. • Wage: $50.25 - $55.84 (probationary rate - full rate) • Double time paid on Sundays • Shift: 7x7 continuous shift • Paid Time Off in Year 1: Vacation & Sick time • 6% Employer paid pension, plus up to 1% additional • 6% voluntary Employee Share Purchase, earns 2% Finning match • 100% Employer paid medical benefits • CAT certified training: Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning Job Description: Maintain and repair Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment Component rebuild and repair Some Manufacturing Perform routine maintenance work Occasional work at heights and confined spaces Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required Qualifications Journeyperson Welder Ticket with Interprovincial Certification Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial Repair welding would be considered an asset Strong line boring experience will be considered an asset Important Details This position is based in our Prince George shop, on a 7x7 continuous shift A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator Field work may be required Union Membership: This is a unionized position.
