Lube Technician
About the role
Repair, switch and replace tires and complete tire checks on all rolling equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain records of tires and track inventory. Key Responsibilities: • Perform all tire repairs, tire switches, tire replacements and tire checks on all rolling equipment. • Maintain records of tires and track inventory. • Complete all tire change tags. • Brand tires with branch numbers. • Complete daily tire checks on all rolling equipment by recording air pressure, searching for cuts, observing general condition of all tires and ensuring all wheel lugs are tight and wheels are straight. • Maintain clean work area. • Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors. • Assist shop mechanics as needed. • Perform miscellaneous equipment cleaning. • Occasionally required to maintain attractive grounds by picking up and removing paper, trash and other debris and disposing of it properly. • Maintain working knowledge of new technology through use of technical manuals, attendance of technical training seminars, etc. • Attend safety and branch meetings. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management. Requirements: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) • Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to operate any equipment necessary to perform job. • Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence and instructions such as company policies and procedures. • Ability to write simple correspondence such as daily paperwork and reports. Physical/Mental Demands: • Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste, and smell. • Visual Requirements: include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds. • Ability to work in usually loud conditions. Working Conditions: • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles. • Frequently work in outside weather conditions. • Occasionally work in high precarious places. • Work environment is usually loud.
