Role Overview The Fabrication Manager serves as the lead for all production aspects of their typology/projects. They coordinate cross-functional collaboration between Digital Planning, Technical Planning, Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Finishing to ensure seamless project development and execution. The Fabrication Manager plays a critical role in translating technical designs into efficient fabrication processes while maintaining Spearhead’s commitment to quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Additionally, the Fabrication Manager acts as a trainer and mentor, supporting employee onboarding and ongoing training requirements. They work collaboratively across all departments to foster production efficiency, uphold safety standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within their area of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Team Leadership Serve as the team lead for production and throughput of projects, overseeing all phases from material receipt through final quality control and shipping Provide leadership throughout project execution, making decisions that align with project objectives while operating in parallel with simultaneous projects Provide mentorship and performance management to direct reports including a formal annual performance review and regular 1:1s Endorse and promote continuous improvement and innovation within the Fabrication department Technical Oversight Operate as a design consultant to ensure continuity from Digital Planning to Fabrication, providing technical expertise to bridge design intent with fabrication capabilities Take lead on employee onboarding and training, ensuring all training meets WorkSafeBC requirements and company safety standards Process Management Coordinate with Sr Job Leads, Job Leads, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to maintain project momentum and address resource requirements proactively Ensure projects, processes, shop space, and team members are operating effectively and safely Maintain best-practice workflows, procedures, and protocols throughout the production area Engage with department stakeholders to ensure seamless flow of internal project development and execution across Digital Planning, Technical Planning, Fabrication, and Manufacturing teams

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Attributes Post-secondary education in a relevant field, or equivalent experience Extensive experience in fabrication with advanced knowledge in production processes Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing projects, coordinating teams, and mentoring staff Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, tools, techniques, machinery, and associated maintenance requirements Experience developing and delivering training programs for equipment and safety protocols Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to make decisions under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements Advanced understanding of quality control and quality assurance standards in manufacturing environments Excellent organizational and time management abilities with capacity to coordinate multiple concurrent projects Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build consensus Detail-oriented with commitment to excellence and craftsmanship Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, digital models, and engineering specifications Experience with project planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling Knowledge of WorkSafeBC requirements and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Schedule and Working Conditions Ability to work 7:30-5:15, Monday – Thursday, with a 15-minute paid coffee break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day, and every second Friday from 7:30-4:00, with a 15-minute paid coffee break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day Ability to work on-site at Spearhead headquarters Manual dexterity to operate fabrication and finishing tools on a regular basis Ability to stand and move around the fabrication shop for work shifts Ability to work in a workshop with exposure to dust, chemicals, and noise using required PPE, as needed Ability to move and carry materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
