Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
Maintain and repair shop equipment (welders, CNC machines, lathes, mills, press brakes, shears, saws) Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues Perform preventative maintenance and adjust schedules as needed Support equipment installations, shop layout changes, and machinery move Fabricate, modify, and improve equipment, tooling, and fixtures Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings Follow safety procedures and best practices Collaborate with machinists, fabricators, and supervisors to keep projects on track
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. 3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a fabrication or machine shop environment. Hands-on experience maintaining CNC machines, welders, lathes, mills, press brakes, and other heavy industrial equipment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with required knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and controls; PLC experience is considered an asset. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and basic CAD drawings. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, including adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety standards. Available to work Monday to Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Valid full G driver's license and reliable transportation required for candidates commuting from outside Guelph. Available to start as soon as possible. Must have appropriate PPE, including CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots.

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: Guelph, ON Employment Type: Temporary contract with the possibility of an extension.
