Responsibilities

Tasks

Compute dimensions, sizes, shapes and tolerances of workpieces Inspect final products Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and grinders Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments Program CNC machine tools Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools
