Our Insurance division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager, Operational Data Services Services to join the Insurance Insights team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will perform leadership and guidance to a team of Analytical professionals, delivery advisory, analytical and reporting services to support informed, data-driven decision making and strategy development. Position Higlights:
Leads and oversees the analysis of key operational trends and results; Develops performance metrics and identifies potential improvement opportunities, challenges or risks in coordination and collaboration with Insurance Sales, Distribution, & Operations management. Participates in a variety of internal and external committees and projects, working closely with Insurance, Business Analytics, and Information Management teams. Collaborate with Insurance Insights management to establish governance and align analytical priorities; ensure insights are integrated into a central framework. Manages the day-to-day operations of the team, including the recruitment, development, coaching and performance management of reporting staff.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge of the principles, theories, standards and best practices for business analytics, statistical modelling, hypothesis testing and financial analysis; Knowledge of the insurance industry, and relevant governing acts, legislations, regulations and public policy. Experienced working with data and ability to draw insights using SQL, Zeppelin, and/or Tableau.
The requirements for Manager, Operational Data Services are typically recognized by an undergraduate degree and/or professional designation in a technical/business/scientific field (e.g. Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, statistics, actuarial science, computer science or mathematics) and/or experience with leading teams of data professionals. Direct experience is an asset and typically required for someone to preform this job competently. Work arrangements defined:
Resident – you will work at your primary in-office headquarters on all scheduled work days. Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. Hybrid 10 – you will work a minimum of 10 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically one week in/one week out or up to 3 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia. Mobile – you will work a significant amount of time in the field, in addition to working from an office and optionally working remotely within British Columbia. Remote – you will work remotely from within British Columbia, with one required visit to your primary office per month.
