The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Underground Service Mechanicperforms maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment in underground mining operations. Responsibilities include:

• Respond to service calls from operations.
• Diagnose issues on the construction site.
• Perform repairs on the construction site.
• Determine the cause and nature of failures to specify the methods and means of repairs to be done.
• Assist colleagues on the site with various tasks as needed;
• Drive and maintain service vehicles.
• Adhere to the company's health and safety requirements and recommendations.
• Perform other related tasks related to the position.

Qualifications

• Possess a professional diploma (DEP) in construction equipment mechanics or an equivalent qualification;
• Have experience on a mechanical service vehicle.
• Have a background in heavy machinery maintenance.
• Showcase proficient diagnostic abilities.
• Hold a valid driver's license for class 5 vehicles.
• Completion of FMTM mining modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7;
• Hold a valid explosives permit.
